This has been quite a year for the Kirkby's with a big move to fabulous Las Vegas! As with any big changes in life, there are new things to love and things left behind that are missed. Everyone is finding their own ways to make the adjustments and thrive here in the city of Saints and Sin.

Brianne has been busy this year as the Ward Mia Maid President. She's decided to continue her drum activities by joining the winter drum line now that marching band is over. She also decided to expand her music education by taking piano lessons. She was asked to join the National Honor Society, which is a great intro into her college preparation.

Recently, while at work, Brian IM'ed to a friend: "brb. a pilgrim just walked by carrying an accordion and i wanna go see what that’s about." That sums up the awesomeness that is zappos.com. He enjoys making websites with and about his family.

Liz is keeping herself busy with full-time momhood. She serves as the Ward Choir director and the Primary Music Leader as well as the PTO treasurer. When she’s not wowing people with her musical, financial or organizational abilities, she can be found working on dinner, homework, chore charts or piggy banks with one or more of the kids.

Hannah is thriving at her new charter school by taking on student council responsibilities and generally being a leader of the school. Her teachers all report that Hannah is a natural leader who is always available to help and, at appropriate times, even challenge her teachers. She continues to excel in her piano education, which training she uses to serve as the pianist for young women’s in addition to serving as the Beehive secretary.

Jackson just competed in the Las Vegas area FIRST™ LEGO™ League robotics competition where his team placed 5th out of a total of 44 teams. He also plays basketball in a community league and has earned his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts.

Maegann enjoys making videos, drawing and arts of all types. She has quite the collection of “wishing stones” as well as rocks of the normal variety. She’s started Activity Days which she greatly enjoys.
